From hype to health: the three jobs Sword made its clinical evidence do
Sword Health treated clinical evidence as a strategy, not a one-time study. Over ten years it used clinical research for three jobs in sequence: to overcome clinician skepticism, to establish digital care as a new standard, and to prove cost-effectiveness for reimbursement. In this session with Castor’s Derk Arts, Sword CMO Fernando Correia explains how the company built a real-world dataset of more than 200,000 low back pain patients on its own systems, ran two randomized trials on Castor comparing digital and in-person care, and designed studies that hold up in the real world.
